Now as I was looking for shoes, I noticed that the fall collection was bringing back the platform look. Yes, the platform look with a twinge of round toe going on. You will see soon many shoes with variations of this shoe all over the place. Nordstroms is bringing them in like nobody’s business. Me, I’m used a a lower heel and I’m noticing that the lower heel shoe is getting harder to find. I guess I could give it a try and try to practice balancing myself with them walking. I’m not a high heel type of gal but I love the way they look. Wish me luck!

Ugg’s are really picking up some steam with the opening of several new upscale boutiques. Let’s wind back the clocks a little and remember that Oprah Winfrey put these trendy little boots on the map. Queen Oprah started wearing them and then brought 350 pairs for her entire staff. Then they died out a for a minute and then Beyonce started wearing them helping to make the sheepskin boots famous again. I don’t have pair but maybe some kind soul will get me a pair for Christmas. I know I’m always begging.

Today is the Big Mac’s birthday and don’t ask me how old is it. I believe close to 40 but don’t quote me on it. Doesn’t that just make you want to go out and eat 3 of them? Another tidbit for you is that there is actually a Big Mac Museum Restaurant in North Huntingdon, PA. Tell me people have better things to do than hang out in a Big Mac Museum?

Looks like Venus Williams will be taking not only her tennis games on the road but will be taking her new fashion line; ELEVEN to the streets. She developed the line of high-performance, lifestyle and active clothing and footwear for retailer Steve & Barry’s. She will be sportin the outfits at the U.S. Open which begins on August 27th. What’s unbelievable is that the line will not be expensive. The collection will be priced at $19.98 and less. A dedicated website to buy her products will be linked into www.steveandbarrys.com. I like the styles that I have seen thus far so I will be on the website picking up a few pieces soon!

I ran across an interesting concept in my daily reading discussing a company that actually rents pets. Now, you maybe thinking that this could be a disaster but I think it would work out for us urbanites that can’t have pets or are rarely home to keep a pet longer than a day. FlexPetz, out of California has created a pet-sharing program . The target is customers who live in metropolitan areas and travel frequently, who want to have a dog but cannot care for it full time. Members are screened before being allowed to participate and pay for each day they take the dog out on top of monthly ($49.95) and annual ($99.95) fees that cover the dog’s training and medical expenses. The daily fee is about $40 on weekends with a $17 add-on if you use FlexPetz’s shuttle services. There is also a one-time fee of $150. Surprisingly, the demand for this service on their website has been overwhelming. This just shows you that the world really is changing.

If you know someone that has a very large neck or just a big guy; ie: football player, baseball player etc. and they are having a hard time finding a big tie for that neck. There’s a site that carries XXL ties reaching 67 inches in length-up to 10 inches longer than most department store ties. They carry alot of different styles also. Just go to www.bigshotneckwear.com.

RIM just unveiled their new BlackBerry model 8820. Trying to stay ahead of the IPhone frenzy. This BlackBerry provides wireless voice and data access over both cellular and Wi-Fi networks. RIM’s e-mail software will allow customers to access their e-mail, Web browsing, music and watch videos. AT&T has this one also, don’t they have an exclusive with the IPhone? I love my BlackBerry so I’m all for any enhancements.

When you go to the beach, are you looking for someplace to stash your cash? I found this to be a great invention. It’s called the Reef’s Stash sandal for women. It has a cool hidden compartment where you can fit your money or I.D., but please don’t walk in the water with them on. You can get them on Amazon.com for $45.95.

I have always grown up on Tide and will buy it until the day I die. So when I saw this advertisement in the paper to buy a Tide Vintage T-shirt for $10, I was elated. Not because it was $10 but because when you buy a T-shirt, proceeds will go toward rebuilding 10 homes in New Orleans. That is wonderful! Just go to www.tidecleanstart.com. Don’t forget Katrina!

I ran up on these fun mini erasers which are so cool. I have actually never seen anything like this before. They are come in cars, soccers, fast food dishes, dim sum, animals, etc. They are great for parties or just to have on your desk or send them to school with your children. You can see similar selections at www.hapculture.com. I feel so compelled to order them. How fun!
